I totally know what you mean by "I could and have eaten everything and anything all day long". And once you begin to keep track of what you eat, and HOW MUCH, you start to realize something is not right. I used to think I didn't eat that much, but once I started WW (again) and began tracking, I now realize HOW MUCH I was eating. Sheesh. It's so funny because I used to watch thin people and think to myself "they eat like birds, they need to be eating more than that"! Ha. Now I know why they're thin and I'm not.

You're not alone when you say you used food to self-medicate. I think the majority of obese and overweight people use food to comfort themselves and relieve stress.

I could and have eaten everything and anything all day long. No wonder I was so overweight. Food was my choice of self-medication - no meds taste as good as chocolate or ice cream or chips. I so understand this post. Even though I have been doing Weight Watchers and exercising since mid-Sept. there are still days I just want to be the Cookie Monster. But, they are now more like once a month versus every day. Just realizing how we view food is helpful in changing our perspective and relationship with food.
