McNamara, Rowley sweep ski races

Boyne City’s Kaleb McNamara and Charlevoix/East Jordan’s Katherine Rowley swept the slalom and giant slalom races to lead their teams to wins in Thursday’s Lake Michigan Conference ski meet at Nub’s Nob.
The Boyne City boys finished with 47 points, followed by Harbor Springs with 75. Traverse City St. Francis was third (98), Elk Rapids fourth (110), Grayling (158) fifth and Charlevoix/East Jordan sixth (166).
Following McNamara in the slalom were Harbor’s Drake Doherty, Boyne teammate Mike Cortwright, the Rams’ Sam Davis and St. Francis’ Keaden Hornyak.
In GS it was McNamara, Harbor’s Ben Tolzdorf, Boyne’s Nick Simeri, Hornyak and Doherty.
On the girls’ side, Rowley was followed in the slalom by Boyne’s Cristina Roland, the Gladiators’ Lilian Wiley, Harbor Springs’ Andi Shepherd and Grayling’s Cassie Pizzi.
The top five in GS were Rowley, Wiley, Shepherd and Harbor’s Alli Mooradian and Cooper Dendel.
Unfortunately, Jeff and I weren’t able to attend this one, but we’re so proud of him!!!!!!
